The Child of Lanterns

... So yah. I've been writing again, but this time it's fantasy. :3 This is the cover for the 'book' I'm writing this time. XD

The Seven Deadly Sins Series is dead to me now. D: I reread it and it's so lame, lol. Hopefully that won't happen with this one, especially since I don't feel like I'm copying a bestseller with this. *(cough STEPHANIE MEYER cough)*

Um. There's supposed to be a stick thing holding the lantern, but you can't see it very well. x___x

Buuut anyway. I feel like I've been so inactive on dA lately... so I'm going to tell you about the story with this cover. :3

The Child of Lanterns is first in a series of three or four (haven't decided yet), and is in the fantasy genre. The main villain, Lord Uthenmore, battled against the elves with a disease called the Darkness. It infected the elves and fed off their magic, causing the race to slowly die out. One elf, named Jaida, decided that she was going to go out kicking and created a human with her magic. By doing this, she gave the human baby elvin powers, while he would still be immune to the Darkness.

And the story goes on about the child, named Halo, and how he tries to overcome Uthenmore (there's a prophecy involved and all that jazz). Child of Lanterns is spent on Halo getting to a clan of a few remaining elves so he can learn how to control his magic.

The title (The Child of Lanterns) comes from a tarot card reading that Halo receives; I made up my own deck, and the Child of Lanterns is the card representing Halo's past. The others will be the Devil of Blades, Purgatory, and (maybe) The Celestial Stars.
